Most canine barking can be attributed to simple boredom. Dogs are dependent creatures who suffer when left alone. Unfortunately, most of the time, we bring this on ourselves.
So that your dog is always happy, you do things like constantly shower him with treats and pet him whenever you feel like it. Both your behaviour and your dog's whining when he feels mistreated are completely normal.
Dogs need to be taught that barking won't get them what they want. He will learn that barking will get him what he wants if he is unhappy outside and you respond by bringing him inside.
Even if you yell at your dog when he barks, he will associate that with a positive outcome. Since your dog is bored, he or she is probably thinking, "If I can just get my owner to yell at me again, I'll be happy."
It is useless to yell at your dog since he or she will ignore you. Negative reinforcement still has its uses. Let me give you an example of what I mean:
A young dog was mine many years ago. This dog occasionally gave up a nighttime bark for no discernible cause. My dog had a nice, toasty bed, plenty to eat, and clean water at all times. The conditions in his kennel were ideal. He just needed something to do, whereas I was content to stay home and watch TV. I yelled at him to "be quiet," but he continued to bark.
Here's what I found to be effective:
I filled up a disposable cup with water and stood there in front of my dog, not saying a word. I would swiftly spray water in my dog's face whenever he started barking again.
Without a word, I'd silently turn around, walk back inside, and settle in front of the television. After doing it twice or three times the first night, I only did it once or twice the second night, and never again after that. The result was silence, which I greatly appreciated.
Say the phrase "Quiet" aloud once or twice in a regular voice to get everyone's attention. Your dog will learn that the term "Quiet" means he's going to get a face full of water instead of continue barking when he hears it. Later, when he doesn't bark when you expect him to, you should quietly thank him for his good behaviour.

When a dog exposes his fangs, barks, and makes other threatening noises, it is preparing to bite. Stop threatening him and refrain from squirting water in his face or up his nose. The best course of action is to talk to a dog psychologist or doctor.

Everything you say to your dog is just "blah, blah, blah" to him. The way you utter the phrases and the body language you produce while expressing the words are crucial while interacting with your dog.
To make matters worse, you might reassure your dog that everything is fine and you'll be returning shortly. If you come home from work and greet your dog with enthusiasm, he'll learn that being left alone all day is something to be excited about.

Dogs should only be praised and petted when they are truly deserving of such attention.
This is a crucial step, but it is also a challenging one. Everyone in the house, including you, have to adhere to this guideline, so please do so. Train your dog to be more obedient by touching him or her just after they have successfully completed an action you have commanded.
Once your dog has learned to sit, give him a pat on the head and a simple "good dog" to show your appreciation. Your dog will be able to sit and remain reliably in any circumstance if you begin with short durations and increase them gradually.
Your guests will be impressed by your subservience. Dogs will often welcome their owners by leaping onto their shoulders. Many dog owners assume that other people share their enthusiasm for this form of greeting. Sadly, this is not the case.
Learn the Art of "Not Talking"
Your dog will learn that it is OK for him to be "out of contact" for brief periods of time now that you are not constantly petting, stroking, and fondling him. He needs some high-quality chew toys like Nylabones and Kongs.
If you want to leave the room silently, you should let your dog become distracted with a chew toy first, and then leave. You can come back into the room and pick up where you left off after a few minutes, ideally before your dog starts to feel distressed about your absence.
Be quiet and composed as you proceed. Ignore your dog entirely if he comes running over to say hello. Just ignore him completely. In order for your dog to accept your decision to separate from it, you must first make it clear to him that this was of no significance to you. Following these steps will help your dog adopt your way of thinking.
Don't Tell Your Dog Goodbye So Often
If you need to leave your dog alone throughout the day, you should get up and get ready for the day around ten minutes earlier than usual. Get your dog comfortable by feeding him and giving him something to chew on. Prepare yourself to leave, and then relax with a magazine or newspaper before heading out the door.
You should totally disregard your dog. After a few minutes of peaceful isolation, you should sneak out the door and head to the office in silence.
Make sure you don't give your dog any affection or acknowledgement at all, and that you don't say goodbye to him. As you prepare to leave for the day, you wish to avoid making too much of a fuss.
You must maintain the same level of composure and not cause a fuss when you get home later in the day. Don't pet or talk to your dog; just ignore him. Try not to become too giddy about meeting him. You should probably change into more comfortable clothes now that you're at home.
When Fido has calmed down, it's time to show him some love by ordering him to sit. He is rewarded with a pat on the head and a "good dog" just when he sits. As you were just gone for a day, it really doesn't matter.
Dogs require toys for playtime.

There are feeding balls available that can be adjusted to hold a specific amount of dry food, which can be helpful if your dog is overweight but still gets plenty of food. Your dog may easily get his meal by rolling the toy around and causing the food to fall out of the holes.
Making a whole supper will take as long as you want it to. You might also try leaving the TV on so that you have something to watch while you're gone.
Use a Distraction to Halt the Barking of Your Dog
